Birth + postpartum doula
Hi! I’m Jesse.
I’ve always loved babies. At family gatherings growing up, you’d usually find me snuggling the newborns and entertaining the other kiddos.
When it comes to giving birth, I believe in informed choice, evidence-based care, and that your autonomy matters. My goal is to make sure you feel like an active participant in your birth because your birth is yours - it shouldn’t just “happen to you.”
While I’ve always loved birth, when I gave birth myself in 2015 and was finally living the postpartum experience, something shifted. I realized that yes, I love all things birth (I 100% consider myself a certified birth nerd) but something was missing.
I’d just had this life-changing experience. Everyone wanted to hold my baby but who was holding me?
As a parent and birth worker, my support doesn’t stop after you give birth. I’ll continue to walk alongside you as you navigate this new postpartum version of yourself. I’m grateful to hold space for you through it.
This work truly fills my cup. I love witnessing women and birthing folks step into their power and intuition as they welcome their babies into the world.
Besides my obsession with birth, postpartum, and supporting all reproductive outcomes, I’m a busy mom of two young boys (I always knew it would be that way).
I’m a born and raised Calgarian so of course the Rocky Mountains hold a very special place in my heart. I like caffeine but if I’m being honest, at this point in my life, it’s less a want and more a necessity (I think most parents would agree with me 😄).
The more I do this work, the more I realize how much there is still to learn and the more I lean into trusting the process, however it unfolds.
You can work with me by booking Don’t Worry About a Thing! or Struggle Be Gone.
